Die Wasatch Mountains in Utah sind ein beliebtes Ziel für Skifahrer. Tatsächlich kommen sie aus der ganzen Welt, um den erstaunlichsten Schnee zu erleben. Die Möglichkeiten im Backcountry sind endlos, das Gelände ist extrem abwechslungsreich, der Schneefall ist reichlich und die Landschaft ist einfach atemberaubend! Begleiten Sie mich und lassen Sie uns unsere Spuren im unberührten Pulverschnee hinterlassen.
Insbesondere werde ich Sie in den Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons führen, die für ihre Schönheit und erstklassigen Schnee während der gesamten Saison berühmt sind.
Ich schlage eine komplett maßgeschneiderte Skireise in der Wasatch Range vor. Ich werde die Reiseroute und das Programm an Ihre Ziele anpassen. Neben fantastischen Skitagen werden Sie mit neuen Fähigkeiten und Know-how abreisen.
Egal, ob Sie eine Einführung in das Backcountry-Skifahren suchen oder bereits einige oder umfangreiche Erfahrungen haben, dies ist der richtige Ort!
Für Anfänger plane ich natürlich einfachere Routen mit kurzen Anstiegen (bis zu 750 Meter insgesamt während des Tages) und wenn möglich, mit etwas großartigem Pulverschnee.
Wenn Sie bereits über einige Backcountry-Erfahrungen verfügen, kann ich ein anspruchsvolleres Programm definieren, um den besten Schnee zu jagen. Im Allgemeinen werden wir bis zu 1500 Meter aufsteigen und bis zu 7 Stunden Ski fahren. Ich beginne gerne im Little Cottonwood Canyon, um dann unseren Weg hinunter zum Big Cottonwood zu machen und schließlich wieder zum Little Cottonwood aufzusteigen.
Und wenn Sie nach einer fortgeschrittenen Tour suchen, sind die Möglichkeiten in der Wasatch Range herausragend! Wir können bis zu 2500 Meter aufsteigen und einen langen Skitag verbringen, an dem wir mehrere Gipfel hinauf- und hinunterfahren. Ich werde Sie an so viele verschiedene Orte wie möglich an einem Tag bringen.
Wir treffen uns an einem zuvor festgelegten Ort und gehen den Plan für den Tag durch. Bevor wir das Abenteuer beginnen, überprüfen wir die Ausrüstung und besprechen notwendige Backcountry-Techniken. Und dann geht es los zu einem fantastischen Skitag! Außerdem werde ich Ihnen den ganzen Tag über Ratschläge zu Techniken und Bewegungen geben.

We had an excellent experience with Willie Benegas, he was knowledgeable and inclusive and would by all means join him again.

The backcountry ski trip with Willie was awesome! He called me the day before the trip to explain where we were going to go and what we were going to do. Given that the weather was going to be cold, he brought along a thermos flask that I could put hot tea in. On the second day, he shared his thermos of hot tea with me since I didn't take the thermos. The snow conditions were a bit variable but Willie did a good job finding some good powder (especially the second day where we were able to ski 18 inches of untracked powder on an east facing bowl). The skinning part on the second day was extremely challenging because it was on a 32-34 degree slope with about 12 inches of fresh powder and it made the kick turns rather exciting. Willie really helped by using his shovel on each of the kick turns to make it a bit easier for me to make the turn. Willie also provided some coaching tips along the way both on the skinning as well as on the skiing part. He was also able to accurately judge what kind of terrain would work for my skill/fitness level and push me to that level! Willie was also a great companion. He has traveled all over the world and has had some interesting experiences which he shared. All in all, I had a really good trip with Willie.
