Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.

If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Via ferrata was excellent and challenging, being my first Italian via ferrata. It was also a beautiful day! Unfortunately, the Guide needed to split time between two early 20's faster and stronger climbers and myself, a mid-60's active hiker, but slower on the vertical sections.4

Roberto was an amazing guide. Starting out with his communication beforehand, the clarity of instructions and directions were perfect. On the day he was clear, patient and had a great attitude that was encouraging and I would highly recommend him.5
Guide was very attractive to all on the tour. Very kind & very helpful! 5
Paolo was an incredible guide, and was very knowledgeable about the area and the climb. He made my wife & I feel safe, but still pushed us to the limits of our comfort zone and got the adrenaline pumping. He was very experienced on the mountain, and was a pleasure to climb with. We would highly recommend him to any of our friends & family.5

Roberto was perfect! Lovely and knowledgeable5
Roberto was great company and super professional. I discovered from him that 90 +% of his guiding is in Italian but he coped admirably with 3 English "sort-of via farrata novices" (with a combined age of 180... another positive). I liked the fact that he was keen to prefect/tell us the Italian any technical translation. You could tell he was a considerate teacher during term-time.5

Sarah

The trip from start to finish was excellent. I've never done anything like this before and I had such a great day. Patrick, our guide was brilliant. He was very good at explaining what we had to do, what the different mountains in the area were, also very knowledgeable about the tunnels and trenches.

Krista

Patrick was a great via ferrata instructor as well as being a great guide. Our group included both new and experienced climbers. Patrick seamlessly made it a fun and exhilarating day for all of us. We are "rope-climbers" at home. This class gave us the skills to transition into exploring the Dolomites' via ferrata routes as well as being a grand introduction to the beautiful and historic environment of Passo Falzarego. Thanks Patrick!
