What an incredible adventure on Fuji-san! 🗻✨ Kento, our tour guide, is truly one of a kind. ❤️ He turned climbing Fuji-san into such a special and unforgettable experience. He celebrated every milestone with us, kept motivating us when things got tough, and supported us in every way he could — both mentally and practically. At one point, he even carried one of our fellow hikers’ backpacks to make the climb a little easier for them. Because the weather forecast for our originally planned two-day ascent wasn’t looking very promising, we decided to take the chance and climb Fuji-san in one day instead. And we made it! 🥹💪🏻 Reaching the summit and being rewarded with such breathtaking views was a moment I will never forget. Our night in the mountain hut was wonderful, too. And then, the next morning, came another unexpected gift: a fairytale sunrise. 🌅 None of us had expected it. The weather also held up during our descent, allowing us to enjoy the incredible scenery and views all the way down. For that, I am truly grateful. ❤️ But what touched me most was seeing how genuinely excited Kento himself was throughout the whole experience — how happy he was to make these moments possible for us and to share his home with us in such a special way. His warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine joy made this journey even more meaningful to me. Kento, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this unforgettable adventure. 🗻❤️ It was truly a gift to experience Fuji-san and your home with you.5

I came across Explore-Share when I was googling for english speaking and guided hiking group to Mount Fuji as I was a female solo hiker. Our guide Kento was amazing, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and will accompany/guide slower hikers along the way. The hut prepared the most delicious Japanese curry rice and we got to view sunrise from the hut. The route was well planned and we managed to avoid the crowds during the hike. Will definitely join Explore-Share again in the future!5

Kento was fabulous, really experienced and knew everyone on the mountain so could give you all the best advice and pick out all the best ways to enjoy the mountain. In a group there are always a range of abilities, he had a really tough group with 3 who hadn’t really prepared and couldn’t manage and others who were happy to plod up at a steady pace having lots of experience and fitness; Kento managed this really well, ensuring safety and getting everyone to the hut. Really recommend this trip.5

David was an excellent guide. He managed our group and our expectations well. He navigated very challenging weather and kept us safe. He shared his insights from his vast experience and having witnessed some of the not so minor pitfalls that can happen on the mountain in other hikers going awry, I was very grateful for all the expertise. He also gave great advice re packing and preparing for the trip. I would highly recommend both explore-share for anyone wishing to hike Mt Fuji and David Niehoff, our terrific guide. 5

Everything went GREAT! It was FUN and most importantly we managed to hike up and down safely. Kento was an amazing guide and well equipped with information to ensure that all of us are safe. Thank you Kento for making this trip a memorable hike.5
My guide Kento was great. He could not have done better. He is very personable, patient, good communicator, took care of everyone.5
Do not underestimate mount Fuji. You need sunscreen just as much as a waterproof jacket. Pack as light as you can. No need for lots of spare clothing. Just a few lightweight layers. Mountain huts sell drinks so no need to carry masses of water. Head torch, sunglasses, woolly hat, sun hat. Snood/ neck warmer. Power bank for your phone. You’ll take lots of photos. Take Japanese cash. A walking pole is good, especially for descending. Some people like two poles but one is enough for me. You must wear well worn boots and good socks. Hiking shoes won’t protect your ankles. Wear your boots on the plane so if your luggage is lost, you can still do the hike. At the first mountain hut, buy a small wooden stick (there are different sizes but a small one will fit in your luggage). Every hut on the way up mount fuji will burn a brand onto the stick. At the summit they can see all the brands and they will finally stamp the stick it to confirm you successfully climbed fuji. Good boots and a positive attitude will rule the day. Good luck. David, UK. 5

🗻❤️ It was truly a gift to experience Fuji-san and your home with you.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Explore Share and our guide, Kento, to anyone thinking about a trip to Fuji. Our Fuji adventure was a highlight of our Japan holiday for my son (15) and me. Organisation was exceptional both before and during the trip, and it was clear how experienced Kento and the company are at running these trips. An unforgettable experience and memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Kento and Explore Share.
