There were a lot of other people out climbing as well which made it more memorable. The weather is very unpredictable, I reccomend this activity during the dry season. The rock is very slabby with minimal handholds. All in all it was a ton of fun and the views are breathtaking. Although it did start raining while we were on the wall and did not ascend to the top.5

Sergio was awesome! He is very professional and friendly. The climb is very technical and fun, we climbed 6 pitches and then rappelled down. The views are amazing all the way. Unforgettable experience!!5

Sergio was an amazing guide! He is clearly passionate about climbing and making outdoor adventures accessible to people of every ability level. Hearing my goals, he was willing to balance risk with safety and allowed me to have the experience I wanted while climbing in Guatape. He is also very responsive via WhatsApp, which is important when navigating unpredictable weather conditions. Don’t be deterred by rainy conditions – the rock dries astonishingly fast after storms. If you’re willing to give up a little skin on your fingertips, I fully recommend climbing el Penol, rather than taking the stairs.
