**Kandersteg** is a Swiss municipality in the district of _Frutigen-Niedersimmental_. It is an alpine town at 1174m high. It has a privileged location **in the middle of the Bernese Oberland**. It’s one of the best places in the Alps to practice ice climbing. As I live nearby, I’ve extensively climbed and explored the icefalls in the area throughout the last 15 years.

**Ice climbing is one of my favourite winter activities !** I particularly enjoy going to Kandersteg with my friends and clients because…

*   It is the Mecca for ice climbing in Europe, it offers extremely varied terrain;
    
*   Through local knowledge I can find the best crags for every level of ice climber.
    
*   For me in winter there’s nothing more challenging and satisfying than climbing frozen waterfalls.
    

During winter time, the frozen waterfalls in Kandersteg offer ice climbing possibilities for everyone, from beginners to experienced climbers. The area has **easy ice walls suitable for introductory courses**. There are also some **more difficult routes** for the ones looking to progress and gain autonomy.

**All you need is a good level of fitness.** Some basic notions in using crampons will also be a plus.

I’ll define a program based on your wishes, your level and the number of participants. I will also take into account the weather and the ice conditions.
