Egypt’s climate is extremely dry and very sunny. The “winter” months are sunny and warm, with very occasional rain. The Sinai's region weather is very hot and dry, with significant differences in temperature between day and night. Despite very warm and sunny weather throughout the whole year, in winter times the desert areas might become cold.

Cairo International Airport is Egypt’s main entry point, but there are other main airports in Sharm El Sheikh, Alexandria and Hurghada. For a rock climbing trip, the best option would by flying in Sharm El Sheikh, then getting a taxi to Dahab (1 hr) or to St Catherine (2,5 hr). Or drive/bus from Cairo (9 hours).
