Highlights

* Climb the incredible Pyrenees along the classic Besiberris ridge.

* The ridge runs knife-like along the mountain range for 3,000 meters.

* Experience stunning panoramic vistas of the Catalan Pyrenees.

Description

The classic crest of the Pyrenees runs like a knife for 3,000 meters from the north towards the south.

It connects the 3 classic mountains of the Catalan Pyrenees: the North Besiberri (3,008m), the Mig (2,995m), and the South Besiberri (3,023m).

Our alpine climb offers incredible views as we cross and explore the Catalonian region in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. The protected area is also home to lovey tranquil lakes and UNESCO-listed churches.

Between the great mountain valley of Benasque and the lovey national park, the ridge is surrounded by stunning scenery. And the high quality of rock adds another key feature.

This action-packed day contains several possibilities for us to approach. These include from Viella or the dam of Cavallers.

Once we manage to reach the top, the terrific panoramas surrounding us are a unique Pyrenees pleasure.

It’s also possible for us to stay overnight in a hut, either in Ventosa, Calvell, or Besiberris.

Although the Besiberris ridge is not very technical, it is physically demanding. So potential climbers are recommended to have a good level of fitness. In addition, it is recommended to have previous alpine experience in order to fully enjoy the climb safely.
