Description

The Brazilian Tres Picos State Park is a fabulous destination for hiking. If you want to explore this scenic area near Rio de Janeiro, then join one of our expert guides and enjoy a 3-day adventure!

Located in southeastern Brazil, just 120km from Rio de Janeiro, the Parque Estadual dos Três Picos was created in 2002. Its landscape is dominated by the Três Picos mountains, which are part of the Serra do Mar range.

Featuring sub-montane rainforests, wide meadows and beautiful waterfalls this area has a unique beauty. It is home to a rich fauna including endangered species like hawks and cougars.

On this 3-day expedition, we will discover amazing spots of the Tres Picos State Park, such as the peaks of Caixa de Fósforos (“Matchbox”) and Cabeça de Dragão (“Dragon’s Head”); and the valleys of Dos Frades (Valley of the Friars) and Dos Deuses (Valley of the Gods)!

Please keep in mind that this tour requires some hiking experience and a good predisposition for adventure. Furthermore, a good fitness level is crucial.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
