Let Martin, an IFMGA- mountain guide, show you the amazing Saas Fee backcountry terrain with this 8-day splitboarding traverse.
May, Jun, Jul
This 8-day splitboarding traverse in Saas Fee is an excellent initiation program to start enjoying the Alpine touring world!Known as “The Alps Pearl”, Saas Fee is a village located in the Saas Valley, in the southern Swiss Canton of Valais. During winter it becomes a big ski resort with amazing snow and great hospitality. So the help of its lifts is ideal to make a first contact with the splitboarding world. We’ll be surrounded by mountains over 4000 meters high, climbing up with our skins and enjoying amazing powder runs.During this program we’ll reach incredible summits like Allalinhorn (2027 m), Weissmies (4023 m) and Strahlhorn (4196 m). We’ll also spend some night in traditional mountain huts, where you’ll learn what it is to enjoy a quiet night in the Alps, with skies full of stars. And of course every day you’ll be able to ride slopes with pristine deep powder snow!
This 8-day splitboarding traverse in Saas Fee is a great way to discover these beautiful mountains while you enjoy amazing powder runs. Send me a request now and we’ll start organizing your trip!

Arrival in Saas Grund, hotel accommodation and gear check.
We will train on how to use the Arva, glacier rescue and off piste snowboarding.
We will ascend through the ski slopes all the way to the untracked terrain. We’ll continue to summit the Allalinhorn (2027 m). Descent to the valley and night in Saas Grund.
We’ll take the Hohsaass cable car from Saas Grund. Then we’ll climb the Weissmies Peak (4023 m). Descent to the valley and night in Saas Grund.
Transfer to Saas Fee, where we’ll take a Cable Car and then climb to Langfluh (2800 m). Then, instead of going down to the village, we’ll put our skins again to ascend to the Britannia mountain hut, where we will spend the night.
Ascent of the Strahlhorn (4196 m). Night at the Britannia hut.
Traverse back to Saas Fee, going by the summit of the Rimpfischhorn. Finally, descent to the valley.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Martin for his exceptional planning and guidance throughout our first trip to the Alps. Not only is he an incredibly friendly and easygoing individual to be around, but he also possesses remarkable climbing skills and serves as an outstanding guide who readily imparts his mountain knowledge and passion. Martin displayed an impressive level of flexibility when it came to our itinerary. He seamlessly adjusted the route for our initial climb to align with our learning aspirations, all the while prioritizing our safety. Even when an adverse weather forecast emerged for the final two days of our journey, Martin quickly managed the situation and found alternative, equally captivating solutions that allowed us to continue our climbing pursuits, all while making consulting with us. I wholeheartedly recommend Martin to anyone looking to explore mountaineering, whether they are novices or seasoned climbers in need of a guide. Overall, our trip could not have been more rewarding, and we are undoubtedly inclined to select Martin as our guide for our future escapades!
My son and I had a great trip to the top of the Gran Paradiso under the guidance of Martin Elorza. It was the first time to make use of explore-share and, like any system, you need to get used to it but it all goes quite intuitively. Moreover, there are system moderators in between the clients and the guides to ensure that everything goes smooth. If something in the system would not go as planned, they typically intervene quickly, such that one can be reassured. The trip itself was well planned and professionally guided. Martin gave a clear overview upfront and we communicated efficiently prior to the trip. Apart from being a very professional and experienced guide, Martin also proved to be a great person, such that we only have positive memories about our trip. The recommendation to go for the Gran Paradiso ascent (rather than the Mont Blanc) was a very good advice, given our beginner's level. Not sure when yet, but we look forward to a next experience!
Martin is a very good guide and choosed a fantastic itinerary considering the lack of snow.
Martin was really the perfect guide for my and my 17-year old son’s alpine adventure week! In the end we only climbed one out of the three peaks that we had planned to, but on the other hand we climbed three other great ones instead (something we decided together). I really appreciated his flexibility and also that it was easy to hang out with Martin. Best recommendations - wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to him again!
Martin provided us with a challenging weekend that stretched and developed our skiing a lot. He was very responsive to our feedback tailoring the programme as we went. Would absolutely book him again.
Martin was incredible! From the pre trip preparations to managing all logistics while there - he made sure I had everything I needed, taught me alot, and importantly kept me safe! He truly provided a first class adventure.
We enjoyed this trip in the Alps very much!! It was an excellent introduction to mountaineering and the stunning peaks of the Alps massive. Our guide Martin made the full experience a succes; pushing us to the limits, keeping us safe at difficult rocky ascents, but also taking time to enjoy the scenery and the climb. Thanks a lot for the beautiful pictures too!
Excellent experience! Martin is a real expert guide and he managed to adapt the program even when the snow conditions were poor so that we still got to do everything we wanted. Very honest, reliable, and friendly guide. He's very education focussed so we came away from the holiday with a lot of new skills as well. Outstanding trip.
This was a great 4-day hut-to-hut ski experience in the Pyrenees. The national park of Aiguestortes is beautiful and we had a lot of snow. Martin is a professional and social guide. He makes sure that the trip takes place from a pleasant and secure way. Due to the weather conditions we couldn't do the climb to the Montardo and to the Ratera, but Martin organized some alternatives to enjoy the 4 days. We were an international group and could communicate with Martin in English.
Impresionante Martin....te hace alcanzar lo inalcanzable, con una sensación de seguridad increible. Un gran profesional
