Description

The backcountry of Lake Tahoe provides endless surprises due to its raw natural beauty and pristine landscape and terrain providing some truly stunning settings, and I will guide you on this 2-days of backpacking around the area, where we’ll visit the beautiful forests and lakes that are in abundance and see the gorgeous animals that call this place home.

Situated on the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is the second-deepest lake in the United States, and is a veritable outdoor activity mecca in both Winter and Summer. There is a diverse range of flora and fauna in the region, with huge tracts of forest entailing many hidden waterways and exotic animals.

We will meet on the morning of the first day, where we will run through safety information, before heading off in to the backcountry. We will be backpacking through some astonishing landscape and terrain, as the massive tracts of forest lead down to Lake Tahoe itself, with several alpine lakes also nestled within.

We will be camping overnight in tents next to one of these tranquil alpine lakes, with a campfire also set up, where we can gaze clearly at the stars up above, free from the light pollution in the cities.

Hopefully there will be opportunities to see some of the animals that inhabit the area, such bald eagles, deer, osprey, coyotes, sage hen and the famous California black bear.

After breakfast on the second morning we will head to more of the lakes to relax and refresh, before walking back to the starting point in the afternoon, tired but happy at having backpacked through some absolutely startling scenery.

Backpacking through the Lake Tahoe backcountry is a perfect way to spend 2 days – book now to experience!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
