Chimborazo is the highest point in Ecuador and on this amazing volcano, we will first hike to Condor Lake at 5.100 masl (16,700 ft), and from there descend on our mountain bikes! We will also have the chance to visit Balbanera church in Colta and catch sight of the amazing Andean flora and fauna on the way.

On this amazing Chimborazo National Park Hike and Bike in Ecuador, we will have the chance to visit some cultural landmarks, some gorgeous spots in the Andes, and ride down the highest mountain in Ecuador too!
At 6.268 masl (20.564 ft.), Chimborazo volcano is Ecuador’s highest peak. On this tour, we will ride down from an altitude of 5.100 masl (16,700 ft), where Condor Lake is located. To get there, we will set off from Guamote or from Riobamba to the National Park, which is located at 4.200 masl (13,800 ft). On the way, we will stop at the Balbanera church in Colta, which was built in 1534 and is the oldest church in Ecuador.
Once we reach the national park, we will drive to the Hermanos Carrel hut at 4.800 masl (15,750 ft). From there, we will hike to Condor Lake from where we will begin our descent. On the way down, we will stop for a hot drink at Whymper hut, at 5.000 masl (16,400 ft). Finally, we will continue to ride down to the car.
There are different routes suited to a variety of levels that we can choose to ride down Chimborazo. In total, the descent will be 35 km (22 miles). Furthermore, we will have a support car that will follow the group during the ride. Once we reach San Juan, we will enjoy a nice lunch and then return by car to Guamote or Río Bamba.
