Description

Paraty is an enchanting town that lies within São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This beautiful place by the peaks on the Costa Verde of Brazil, is a colonial center. Its cobbled stone roads and buildings that date back to the 17th and 18th century, when it experienced the Brazilian Gold Rush, invite visitors to explore every corner of this lovely town.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy its hypnotizing sceneries. Join this half-day hike through one of Paraty’s most incredible treks: the Gold Trail.

This is a unique path, that unlike most trekking roads here, will not take us to the beach. Slaves built this old highway to connect towns. So the Gold Trail was the main means of communication between Paraty and Minas Gerais, a countryside state which provided most of the gold.

Recently, 5 kilometers of the highway have been rebuilt. Thus, we’ll be able to not only learn about the historical importance of this road, but also enjoy incredible views.

Furthermore, we’ll explore mesmerizing waterfalls, stopping at different important sights to take in the beauty. What’s more, we’ll visit alambiques, a place where locals produce cachaça, Brazil’s national drink. However, there are many other surprises awaiting for us!
