Join me as I guide you through the raw natural beauty of the Barron Gorge National Park, near Cairns, via the exhilarating and brilliant activity of whitewater rafting, as we splash our way through the relatively easy rapids that go past dramatic cliff faces, awe-inspiring ravines and the lush green rainforest that dominates this area.

Barron Gorge National Park is located in the North of the Australian state of Queensland, just a 20 minute drive from the city of Cairns, and is a very popular tourist destination owing to its abundance of natural beauty and diverse range of flora and fauna that inhabit the park.

After meeting in Cairns, it is then a short drive to the park, and once there we go through all relevant safety information and procedures.

We then hit the water as soon as possible, and for the entire time we are rafting there is always something happening, whether that be getting splashed by the variety of rapids we pass through, relaxing as we float down the more tranquil parts of the river, or even just admiring the epic landscape, scenery and terrain around us.

The rapids are gentle enough that even absolute beginners can navigate the waters, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.

The mountains, rainforest, ravines, waterfalls and gorges we go past are a beautiful and magnificent sight, and we finish up at the mighty Barron Gorge, a breath-taking location that is well worth the exertions to get there.

Hopefully this half-day will encourage you to indulge in yet more whitewater rafting, and to return to this sensational part of Australia.
