Description

The most famous ski touring route in the world, the Haute route is the definitive way to see the Alps.

For 6 amazing days, I would like to guide you along the famed Haute route. Starting in Chamonix, France and ending in Zermatt, Switzerland, you will see enough of the Alps to create memories that will last a lifetime.

The Haute route is not an easy traverse. It is full of challenging spots that will force you to push yourself. Hence making this adventure as arduous as it will be thrilling. For every difficult grunt will come a glorious exhale as you gaze at the absolutely breathtaking scenery.

A few examples of the refuges you will occupy during this trip include the Prafleuri refuge, the Cabane des dix, and others. Each refuge will provide you with a comfortable place to rest for the night. They will also give you a spot to gaze at the Alps‘ incredible starry night sky.

Due to the difficult nature of this 6 day expedition, participants must have previous ski touring experience in mountainous terrain. You should also be in good enough physical condition to maintain the pace of the tour as well.

Filled with some of the most famous mountains in the world, from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, the Alps have more than earned their renown. And on this trip along the Haute route you will see all of the legendary mountain range’s glory. So send me a request, meet me in Chamonix, and let’s venture all the way to Zermatt.

I also offer a 4 day off-piste skiing trip in the Chamonix valley, if you would like to enjoy more of that wonderful resort area.

Mountain Guide

The Jura massif is an ideal place to learn and grow your experience in alpine techniques. I practice mountaineering, ski touring and ice climbing in the winter. I am also located very close to the Swiss and French alpine massifs.

First, I started as a ski rescuer. My passion for skiing and climbing helped me discover the classic routes in the mythical summits of the Alps. The first mountain courses I went on with friends as a guide - which I did with a lot of effort, doubts and perseverance - were much needed to build my experience. Still, they also gave me a lot of joy, and I was able to pursue them while laughing and creating beautiful moments shared.

My experience and terrain knowledge will allow you to move safely and enjoy your time, without a promise of the summit but of sharing a privileged and unique moment in the mountains.

Finally, I'm a fully certified IFMGA mountain guide.

An excellent guide, who planned an amazing route and combined technical instruction with local knowledge to provide a very enjoyable day of skiing that improved my off-piste skills and gave me confidence to try lines that I would never consider alone.

I am really, really happy with both Explore-share.com’s service and their recommendation of guide Benjamin Souflot. Benjamin was extremely personable, and more importantly knowledgeable. Benjamin recommended where to rent ski gear and the proper gear for the day. He had crampons for my boots, ropes and other safety gear needed. I showed up at the meeting spot early, and Benjamin was already there waiting. On the gondola ride up to Aiguille du Midi, he talked safety and what to expect. When we got up to the top, it was very windy and intimidating. As Benjamin prepared the gear for our descent, he talked safety, strategy and was reassuring that it would be a fun, safe adventure. As I look down the face of the Ridgeline, I became nervous and anxious. Benjamin was very reassuring that it was going to be OK, that I was safe with him and we would make it down. Sure enough, Benjamin literally “talked me off the ledge” and we proceeded down. Benjamin was focused & guided me the entire time. Once we started skiing, Benjamin gave great instructions as to where to ski, what to expect ahead, etc. He was very knowledgeable about the mountain. When we took breaks, Benjamin shared with me interesting facts about where we were, in the mountains France, Italy, Mount Blanc, the crevasses, various peaks, history of the glacier, etc. I had a great experience! I would definitely do this trip again with Benjamin. I would also recommend this trip to anyone else with Benjamin and your company, Explore-share.com. Thank you again! -John
