Description

Svaneti, located deep in the Caucasus Mountains, is one of the most awe-inspiring heliskiing regions on the planet. Surrounded by Europe’s highest peaks, including the iconic 5,000-meter Ushba, this remote area offers a heliskiing experience unlike any other.

With over 1,800 km² of untouched alpine terrain, Svaneti is a playground for advanced skiers and snowboarders. The 30-kilometer Layla Range features perfect powder on its north-facing slopes, while the southern exposures provide exceptional corn snow during the spring. In over a decade of exploration, we’ve logged more than 140 unique runs here—each offering its own thrill.

Svaneti combines wild beauty with high safety and operational standards. Our experienced teams, expert pilots, and carefully managed logistics ensure that you experience the best of the region—safely and in style.

The stunning landscapes of Svaneti have served as the backdrop for several ski films, including our own production Ushba, which featured some of the world’s top freeriders. It’s a place that inspires both passion and creativity.

If you're searching for a heliskiing destination that delivers adventure, beauty, and pure alpine magic, look no further. Svaneti is calling.

    Accommodation

At the Kakri Resort, newly built in 2024 and located above Mestia, we felt welcome and at home from the very first day. The owner, Sopio, and her husband are excellent hosts and do everything they can to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel has 16 beautiful, modern rooms.

Since we provide each participant with a free room for sole occupancy, we are the only guests. The kitchen provides us with all kinds of Georgian and international delicacies, fortifying us after a long day of skiing.

The helicopter can land right in front of the hotel, so there's no need to drive before or after skiing. From 2026, we will have a beautiful wellness area at our disposal, which will ensure that our muscles are fit again for the next day full of adventure.

    Disclaimer

To fully enjoy and safely participate in this week of heliskiing or heliboarding, participants must possess strong skiing or snowboarding skills across all types of terrain and snow conditions. A high level of physical fitness and stamina is particularly important for navigating long descents, especially through forested areas.

This experience is designed for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

We reserve the right to exclude any individual from the activity if they significantly slow down the group, present a safety risk, or demonstrate insufficient physical or technical ability. In such cases, the person may be transported back to the base during the day.

    More info

Your safety is our top priority. While we strive to deliver an unforgettable heliskiing experience, we never compromise on safety to do so. Risks within our control are carefully managed, but like any high-alpine activity, heliskiing carries inherent dangers—especially in remote terrain.

To prepare for this, we've established a dedicated rescue protocol. Each guide leads a group of up to four guests, and typically, three groups operate simultaneously in a rotating system—ensuring nearby support in case of an emergency.

Our team is fully trained and equipped with first-aid supplies, rescue gear, and a satellite phone for constant communication.

Equipment you will need to bring

Freeride skis (at least 100 mm underfoot) and full safety gear—including shovel, probe, avalanche beacon, and airbag backpack—are mandatory. We provide free rental of safety equipment, including a Scott Alpride avalanche backpack. Helmets are strongly recommended.

A detailed packing list will be sent about 30 days before departure. Please ensure all your gear is in good working condition, as local replacements or rentals are not available. We do carry a limited number of spare skis in case of loss or damage.

    Mountain Guide

I grew up in Tyrol (Austria), fascinated by the mountains at a very young age. This led me to discover the world of climbing at the age of 10. I never would have imagined that I would become so enthralled by it.

I became a full certified IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain and Ski Guide at the age of 22. Since summer 2016 I have had the privilege of introducing you to the wonderful world of mountains.

Whether it's on my home mountains in Tyrol, the 4,000-meter peaks of the Alps, or in the mountains of the Himalayas, I will be happy to guide you!

What people are saying about Christoph

    Vesa

Rupi was great. Super relaxed guy, and kept pushin me.

    Géraldine

Christoph was not our guide on the route, he couldn't make it last minute but one of his colleague from the bergskifuehrer made it. Despite this little last-minute stress, the experience was great. Emanuel our guide was excellent. He was giving very good advice on how to make the best way, we felt very safe and had a lot of fun as well.

    Kira

Everything was perfect. Christoph gauged our abilities and selected accordingly, and we had 2 lovely days at the crag, seeing different parts of the beautiful Zillertal region. 100% would recommend to others and come back again!!

    Nataliia

It was perfect, great emotions from via ferrata, great guide's job, certainly, we will come back and try other routes. Christoph, you are the best! Thank you for this experience!
