Description

This half-day hike I will guide you on promises to be a memorable way to experience the region around Florianopolis, as we hike through the lush green Atlantic rainforest to the famous “mystic rocks”, a special and magical place that offers unbeatable views back out over the district of Lagoa da Conceicao and its glorious beaches, and also learn about the history, culture and traditions of the area.

Florianopolis is the capital city of the Southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, and is renowned for its superb sandy beaches and the raw natural beauty of its surrounds, including many lakes and lagoons.

We meet in the morning in Florianopolis, and we then begin the hike in earnest through the rainforest. Along the way we will be teaching you plenty about the exotic and diverse local flora and fauna, as well as impart our wisdom regarding the interesting and odd rock formations that dot the landscape.

We then reach the mountain peak, providing us with sweeping panoramic views back over the myriad of lovely beaches that dominate the area, ensuring you will constantly be reaching for your camera to capture these jaw-dropping and breathtaking views.

It is here that we will learn about the “mystic rocks” themselves, as legend has it they were used thousands of years ago by the native tribes for their rites.

Before heading back down we also learn about the local nature conservation project.

We then finish the hike back in Florianopolis, hopefully having made you fall even more in love with this special part of Brazil.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
