Description

Mt Brewster is located in New Zealand's Southern Alps, near Haast Pass, on the Main Divide. This 2-day trek will take you hiking in this beautiful area and you'll even get the chance to walk on Brewster Glacier!

The starting point for this 2-day trek is just a short driving distance away from our office in Wanaka. This hike offers a true alpine adventure!

It has the advantage of not receiving many visitors. It's a secret gem in one of the corners of Aspiring National Park. Thus, you'll enjoy magnificent views all along this 2-day hike!

We will start by crossing the Haast River at Fantail Falls. From there, a steep ascent through breech forest will take us to Brewster Hut. This hut is situated in the most stunning spot and, from here, we'll have to choose between hiking to Brewster Glacier or climbing to the summit of nearby Mt Armstrong (2179m).

After our hike on the second day, we'll go back down to Fantail Falls and then drive back to Wanaka. However, we'll have to make a short stop along the way to get ice cream at the Makarora rural settlement.
