Description

Join me on this 3-day kayaking adventure around Paraty, Costa Verde, and we will discover and find some of the best-hidden natural gems of Brazil, as we kayak around arguably some of the best coastal scenery in all of the country while taking in the glorious surroundings of bays, beaches, waterfalls, jungle and exotic local flora and fauna.

Paraty is a popular tourist destination located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, along the Costa Verde, a magnificent stretch of coast on the Atlantic Ocean. It has a postcard-pretty Portuguese colonial centre, and is increasingly known as a place for artists to live and work.

We meet on the first morning in Rio de Janeiro, from where we then head to Paraty. The afternoon and evening is spent wandering and around getting to know the town itself.

The 2nd day is when we being paddling in earnest, as we kayak around the truly picturesque and exquisite headlands, stopping at islands along the way, including one with an opportunity to spot endangered Golden Lion Tamarin monkeys.

Day 3 begins with a 500m hike up the nearby Sugar Loaf Mountain, allowing us unparalleled views over the coast and Brazil’s only tropical fjord. We then spend the afternoon kayaking around the mangroves and water of a natural marine sanctuary, home to over 100 different fish species.

The final day contains paddling to the small village of ‘Little Paraty’, a historically important place that was used as a slavery dropping off point in the past.

We then finish the trip back in Paraty, weary and content at the awesome kayaking we have indulged in and the special sights we have seen.

This is a unique and fun way to discover the hidden delights of Brazil – book now to experience!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
