Would you like to discover a truly unique rock climbing destination in Peru? Then join me on this exhilarating program to Hatun Machay in the Cordillera Negra!

Hatun Machay is a rocky forest located in Peru’s Cordillera Negra. This awe-inspiring place boasts amazing granite rock eroded by water, wind, and glaciers. On this rock climbing program, we will find a variety of 15 to 60-meter routes for different levels at an altitude of approximately 4200m (13779ft.).

We will set off from Huaraz and pass the towns of Recuay, Ticapampa, and Catac. Then,  we will take a detour to the Cordillera Negra and once we reach the checkpoint, we will start with a 15 or 20 min hike towards the stone forest of Hatun Machay, where you will see cave paintings, petroglyphs and different rock formations. After enjoying some amazing climbing, we will return to Huaraz.

This program is open to participants of all levels, we will find the perfect route for you. Furthermore, I will be there every step of the way to help and guide you!

I was born and raised in the hamlet of Yarush in 1987, at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca. From very young age i was born my passion for the mountains. In 2003 I started as enthusiast to climbing in rock next to my brother Eloy. In 2009 i obtained the title as ''official guide of high mountain'', i also ranks first in his class.
I enjoys doing sports climbing and opening new avenues in the cordillera Blanca, and in other countries. My wide experience has meant that he has climbed most of the mountains in cordillera blanca.
