The Chilean town of San Pedro de Atacama is a beautiful place that is well worth a visit. And the area around it is a vast and gorgeous stretch of land that will leave you amazed. Filled with history that dates back to pre-Columbian times, there is as much to learn as there is to enjoy in this magical place.

On this trip I would like to guide you around the area surrounding the town of San Pedro de Atacama on horseback. This will provide you with a comfortable means to get around. It will also give you a fun experience because there are few things as fun as horseback riding!

There are several options for the amount of time this tour can last. There is a 2 hour, 3 hour, 3 different 4 hour options, and an 8 hour option.

On the 2 hour tour, you will get to explore the Pukara de Quitor and see the pre-Incan ruins. On the 3 hour tour, you will get to cross  the salt mountain range. For the 4 hour tour options you will get to choose from seeing the Chilean highlands or crossing the Ayllus toward the Tulor sector. There is also an option to cross the Catarpe valley to the Calama. Finally, for the 8 hour tour, you will get to visit the Salar de Atacama. Once there, you will get to see the salt lagoons, where you can bathe and float in the salty water!

Do you want to explore a gorgeous part of Chile on horseback? Then send me a request and join me on one of these amazing tours around San Pedro de Atacama.

I can also guide you to the to the top of the Cerro Toco in the San Pedro de Atacama area as well on this 1 day adventure.

About lead guide, Christian Fernandez:

I’m originally from Argentina, but live in Chile since 1998. Now I’m settled in the north of Chile, in San Pedro de Atacama, beautiful town in the heart of the Andean section of the dry Atacama dessert.

From there I organize many expeditions to beautiful peaks on a weekly basis. I’ve done more than 300 high altitude ascents, and more than 25 peaks over 6000 metres.

I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.
