Description

Shinrin Yoku is the Japanese practice of forest bathing, and on these half-day workshops in Brussels, I would like to guide you on this enriching path back to nature and contemplation.

If you have not practiced forest bathing before, you may wonder how it is different from a hike. Forest bathing combines slow-pacing, conscious attention using and fine-tuning all of the senses, and breathwork. It also involves ritual and sharing as a way of enhancing awareness.

Some of the benefits of forest bathing, which may vary from person to person, include blood pressure regulation, strengthened immune system, reduced stress and anxiety, reconnection with nature, and a spiritual experience.

The workshop that I propose takes place once a month in the mornings, from 9.00 am to 13.00. It involves a 5-step immersion, each of which is referred to as an “invitation”, before a final closing ceremony in which observations will be shared. The forest that it will take place in is the amazing Forêt de Soignes (Sonian Forest) in Brussels.

Get ready to work on your attention, patience, and awareness as you bathe in the light and shades of the forest, unique aromas, and enjoy the music of rustling leaves, birds, and more! I look forward to taking you on this unique and unforgettable journey. Contact me now and join this replenishing Shinrin Yoku workshop!

So close to Brussels but so far from the city…. In a beautiful and peaceful area (Arboretum de Jezus Eik, Forêt de Soignes), I enjoyed a moment of pure wellness and connection with nature and with myself. The Shinrin Yoku experience was really appreciated. It was a nice break in the running everyday life. Being the mother of a lovely 15 months old girl, it was great to have a moment for me, where the only thing you have to do is touch, breath, smell, feel the nature around me as you wouldn’t do if you were going on a “normal” walk across the forest. The group was very small (never big anyway) and I didn’t know the other participants. We were following the soft voice of our guide, Nolwenn, and all this, at a very low walking rhythm. The fact to concentrate on the nature around me, to slow down and live the moment without thinking in all logistics themes was a real resourcing experience. Nolwenn is a very nice guide. She made us live this forest bath following the rhythm of the group. She also made us highly appreciate recommendations on the equipment to wear and bring with us. This was perfect to have the right amount of layers to be comfortable during the whole morning. In the end, there was also a small surprise that my stomach really appreciate. When I came back to the city, a feeling of lightness and inner calm was still there and remained for a few days. I didn’t see the time pass by and will certainly repeat the experience. Maybe at another time of the year, in order to enjoy the forest at another season, with other plants and another moment of nature’s cycle. Thank Explore-Share to propose so many attractive outdoor activities to do with friends, alone, or with the family!

An excellent moment of calm and introspection in the company of Nature. "Just around the corner", easy to plan and to plug in our day-to-day life. I am used to walk in the woods, but this is woods 2.0. To experience, repeat and repeat. Thank you Explore&Share for letting me discover this.
