Sierra de Guara: 2-day Canyoning and Via Ferrata Adventure

Experience the adrenaline filled via ferrata and canyoning adventures in one of Spain’s top outdoor regions – Sierra de Guara – during this 2 day program!

Located in Northern Spain’s province of Huesca in the region of Aragon, Sierra de Guara National Park is a destination for anyone seeking to spend time outdoors enjoying one of Europe’s most distinct landscapes. In particular, Sierra de Guara is known for its unique topography, including a variety of canyons, gorges, cliffs, and caves.  The terrain makes it a perfect place to practice two of my favorite outdoor activities – canyoning and via ferrata.

During this exciting 2 day trip, we will first spend a day exploring the area’s via ferrata, followed by a day spent deep within the area’s stunning canyons.  Each day’s adventure will last about 5-7 hours, starting from the office of my tour company, Expediciones.  We will provide all the necessary canyoning or via ferrata equipment you will need before heading off in our personal vehicles to the trailhead in the national park.

The via ferrata routes consist of a series of cables, metal rods, and footholds that will allow us to ascend steep slopes both safely and confidently.  This via ferrata is accessible to those with no previous experience.  Then, the day’s excitement will peak with a series of exciting abseils, or rappels, that we will use to descend.

The following day we will embark on our next adventure in one of area’s many incredible canyoning spots.  We will chose the exact canyon we explore depending on conditions, water levels, and the experience of the group.  Depending on the route we take, we will slide, swim, jump, and rappel down a series of canyons, waterfalls, and streams.  As an experienced guide with extensive knowledge of the local canyoning spots, I will make sure you enjoy this thrilling sport in a safe and fun manner.
