Description

Live an amazing 2-day mountaineering experience on this exciting program in the Sierra Nevada. Follow me to the top of Mulhacén and Alcazaba and contemplate the incredible views.

Situated in the Sierra Nevada National Park, in the province of Granada, Mulhacén (3,479 meters) is the tallest peak in the Iberian Peninsula. On this 2-day program, we will reach this summit, as well as the Alcazaba Peak (3,371 meters), the sixth highest mountain in Spain.

On the first day of the program, we will depart from Hoya del Portillo and start our way to the Mulhacén summit via the south side of the mountain. After reaching the top, we will descend across the Loma del Resuello and discover the fantastic Cañada de 7 Lagunas, one of the most beautiful places in the range.

On the second day of the program, we will set out towards Alcazaba after breakfast. We will first reach the Peñón del Globo (3,289 meters) before continuing onward to Alcazaba. Once on the summit, we will get to see breathtaking views of Mulhacén and the surrounding peaks in the Sierra Nevada. Finally, we will head back to Hoya del Portillo and end our program.

Since I was a kid I travelled around the hills and peaks of Sierra Nevada range in south Spain, going up and down the valleys that made me in love with the mountains world.

Steadily, I discovered other ranges of the Iberic peninsula such as the Pyrenees and Picos de Europa, and then I travelled to the peruvian Andes, the Amazonas jungle, the Moroccan Atlas...

I really enjoyed the trip! Alejandro was a great guide. The only few things to work on are: -Alcazaba was not possible because of snow. I definitely understand this but it was not communicated until we were on the trail -Explore share was difficult as a third party to communicate with- It worked better once I got email working directly -I think the cost for the trip is high but if it goes to the guide and not explore-share that's one thing.. if a lot goes to explore-share I would prefer to find guides on my own
