Description

In the Georgian region of Svaneti, there is a wide assortment of highlights that you will get to experience on this 11 day splitboarding adventure.

Every day of this trip will have you seeing and experiencing a new part of Svaneti. This gorgeous area is so vast and beautiful that while 11 days may seem long, this trip could easily be twice that, and still be incredible.

There are several glaciers you will get to not only see, but descend as well on this trip, including the Guli glacier, the Chaladi glacier and the Shkara glacier. Some examples of the peaks you will get to see, explore and enjoy include Mount Decil (2,578m), Mount Simzagari (3,311m), Mount Kareta (3,524m) and Mount Kuruldashi (3,014m).

While you are splitboarding on and around these peaks and glaciers, you will have some spectacular views of the Svaneti landscape. You will get to gaze out at the large forests, and a huge portion of the Caucasus mountains.

Along with the natural wonders of this trip, you will also get to enjoy several villages, towns and cities as well. This adventure will begin and end with the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi. You will also get to visit, and spend the night in the villages of Becho and Ushguli, as well as the town of Mestia.

While this is a splitboarding trip, it is also much more than that. For 11 days, you will get to immerse yourself in a beautiful region of Georgia. So send me a request and come to Svaneti. You will be glad you did.

If I’m not available to guide you, one of my 3 teammates, all of them GMGA mountain guides, will be happy to do so. We can also adapt the number of days and the itinerary of the program according to your preferences.

Pre-Trip: Service from Explore-Share could have been better. What should have been a simple request with payments was badly dealt with. Taking automatic payments is a strange and unusual way of booking a guide. This was eventually dealt with though I had to argue for some time. Pre-trip support from guide could also have been better - getting an E-mail response on queries about the trip was not easy. I suggest a shared E-mail between the guide team would enable a better response capability if some guides are on the mountain etc. Although saying that, once in Svaneti we found even the most remote villages have Wi-Fi.... During the trip: Guide service was brilliant. Airport pick up was spot-on. Accommodation and food was great. There were two challenging aspects - the weather and the start of the Coronavirus issue. Guide team dealt well with both curve-balls (E.g. restaurants closing, and arranging slightly earlier return transport to Tbilisi). We had a great week, I would strongly recommend these guys to anyone visiting Georgia.

We had a fantastic trip in Svaneti with our guide Ilia who is a very professional and nice person. We were blessed by his kindness. He is a very patient, experienced and passionate person. Svaneti is a really beautiful region, wild and remote. I would advice staying more than a week as it takes quite some time to reach the mestia valley. The villages are vey harming and accommodation is quite good. There are thousands of ski tour possibilities and we were most of the time alone. Georgian people are great..and the food is fantastic ! I would definitively recommend the trip and our guide Ilia.
