This national park is located in the Kymenlaakso region and was established in 1996. Covering 17 square kilometers (6.6 square miles), Valkmusa has become a popular destination for nature lovers who like to hiking and disconnecting from the modern world.
The park is famous for the rich variety of its birdlife, like Redshanks, Pochards and Whimbrels. Furthermore, there are a large number of very representative species of butterflies in the area, which include many endangered species.
