Description

Join one of our experienced guides on an exploration of the spectacular Leiðarendi Cave. Plus, enjoy a horseback riding adventure to remember.

The horseriding portion of this trip takes place on the terrain of the Laxnes Horse Farm. We’ll ride, at a gentle pace, across undulating hills, pass fantastic waterfalls and see the beautiful Icelandic scenery.

Then, we’ll explore the cave on foot without the horses. Leiðarendi Cave is actually a lava tube that was formed following an eruption thousands of years ago. Stretching out across 900 meters, with twists and turns and wild-looking rock formations, it’s fascinating to explore.

The walk itself in the cave is relatively easy. So is the access to this magical underground world. However, you may have to crawl in some small sections due to the narrow passageways. The ground underneath can also be uneven.

When we’re in the cave you’ll be able to marvel at all the different colors. These colors come from the many different minerals deposited in the earth from the eruption.

This trip is a great way to enjoy and learn about the scenery, geology and history of Iceland.

We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have, so get in touch today and get one step closer to experiencing the best of Iceland.

While you’re here why not check out our awesome hot springs experience in Reykjadalur.
