Due to its accessibility and impressive flow, El Escondido is one of the most popular and beautiful canyons in Patagonia. I have organized this one day program for people who want to learn about this fun activity while exploring this region’s magical surroundings.

O**ur starting point will be in the beautiful city of San Carlos de Bariloche in the Argentinean province of Río Negro.** After a two hour drive and one hour walk, we will put on our equipment and begin with this fantastic canyoning experience.

Even though this canyoning tour **is for beginners, all participants need to be physically fit** and know how to swim. Also, keep in mind that **I will provide all the necessary equipment** to make sure we have a fun and safe trip.

Canyoning day in El Escondido, Argentina

Would you like to enjoy a **stunning adventure in the deep-blue lakes of Patagonia**? Then come to Bariloche for a **2-day kayaking experience to Brazo Tristeza!**

San Carlos de Bariloche, most known as Bariloche, is at **the foothills of the Andes mountain range**, on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Both the city and the lake are part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, the oldest in Argentina. This beautiful area is **one of the most popular skiing, trekking and mountaineering destinations in South America**.

Nahuel Huapi, in northern Patagonia, is **a 529 km2 deep-blue lake surrounded by lush forests and huge peaks**. On this 2-day kayaking tour we will reach one of the seven branches of Brazo Tristeza.

Comfortable and stable kayaks will allow us to **explore this pristine lake**. We will **reach amazing waterfalls and enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes mountains including Lopez, Capilla and Tronador**, among others!

We can also try some easy hikes in the area. At night, **we will sleep in tents very close the the lake, surrounded by fabulous natural scenery**. You can check the complete itinerary below!

The day before the trip I’ll visit you at your accommodation in Bariloche to meet and check the equipment.

Previous meeting

After a few minutes of easy paddling, we’ll get to Brazo Tristeza. There is plenty of time to stop, relax and enjoy the surroundings. We will have lunch on one of the secluded beaches, and then continue towards the campsite.

During the afternoon, we can go for short walks to explore the area, take photos or relax on the beaches with splendid views of the mountains and lakes.

Lunch, Snacks & Dinner included  – Tent & Camp included.

Bariloche - Brazo Tristeza

After a tasty and hearty breakfast and some free time, we’ll pack up our gear and tents and paddle towards the end of Brazo Tristeza. we’ll take an easy hike on the banks of River Frey to an impressive waterfall and granite toboggan.

Back in the kayaks, we’ll start the return trip along the opposite coast to continue discovering this wild part of Nahuel Huapi National Park. The expedition ends at Bahía López in the afternoon, and we’ll drive back to your accommodation in Bariloche.

On this multi-sport adventure tour, you will have the chance to **paddle the pristine waters of Moreno and Nahuel Huapi lakes, and hike to “Miradores del Brazo Tristeza”**, a fabulous spot with panoramic views of Mount Tronador and surroundings. In addition, we will enjoy a **home-made tasty picnic in a breathtaking scenery**. You don’t need previous hiking or kayaking experience: **everyone is welcome**!

I’ll pick you at your accommodation and drive to the starting point of the adventure: López Bay.  

After a trip briefing, we will start kayaking in the Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes.

At one of the secluded beaches, we will have a home-made pic nic lunch on the shore of the lake, where you can relax and breathe fresh air surrounded by pure nature.

After the relaxing break, we will begin hiking up to the  Brazo Tristeza (Spanish for “Sadness Branch”) vantage point. Then, after the descent, we will drive back, making a short pause in “Punta Panorámico” (Spanish for “Panoramic Viewpoint”) to admire the Nahuel Huapi lake, Victoria Island and the surrounding peaks. We’ll arrive at the hotel late afternoon.
