Es un placer invitarte a escalar dos joyas de los Alpes Peninos: las montañas Breithorn y Pollux .

El Breithorn es una montaña ubicada cerca del Matterhorn. Forma parte del Macizo del Monte Rosa, en la frontera italo-suiza. Esta cima divide en realidad el Valle de Mattertal del Val d'Ayas (Valle de Aosta).

El Breithorn tiene cinco cimas, una de ellas es la Roccia Nera, a 4,075 metros. Es la cima que separa el Breithorn del Pollux, nuestro otro objetivo. El Pollux se encuentra directamente al norte del Refugio Val d'Ayas y su acceso es bastante suave.

En cuanto al itinerario de este viaje de escalada de 2 días, nos encontraremos en Zermatt. Luego tomaremos el teleférico hacia la Estación del Klein Matterhorn, a 3800 metros de altitud. Aquí comienza una hermosa ascensión al Breithorn. Por la tarde, descenderemos al Refugio de Montaña Val d'Ayas (3394 m), donde pasaremos la noche.

Durante nuestro segundo día, ascenderemos a la cima del Pollux (4092 m). La ruta sigue la fácil cresta suroeste. Una vez que alcancemos la cumbre, regresaremos por la misma ruta. Finalmente, volveremos a la Estación del Klein Matterhorn. El viaje redondo tarda alrededor de 6 horas.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
