El Monte Olympus (2,355 m.) es el pico más alto en Grecia. En este ascenso de 3 días alcanzarás su cumbre bajo la guía experta!

Ubicado en el norte de Grecia, esta hermosa montaña está situada en la impresionante Riviera Olympus, un Sitio del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO y una Reserva de la Biosfera. También es un lugar lleno de misticismo e historia. Según la mitología griega, esta área fue hogar de los 12 dioses antiguos.

Esta caminata de 3 días nos llevará por el lado este de la montaña, de refugio a refugio a través de senderos bien marcados por un bosque precioso. Cruzaremos los “Caminos de los 12 dioses” y hablaremos sobre mitología e historia mientras ascendemos. Primero nos reuniremos en el pueblo de Litochoro y comenzaremos la caminata desde la estación de Gortsia (1.100m). Llegaremos al Refugio Petrostrouga, Meseta de las Musas y finalmente a los Refugios de la Meseta, el primer día. Al día siguiente, ascenderemos a la cima del Monte Olympus.

No solo disfrutaremos de la historia y mitología, sino también del impresionante paisaje alpino, con vistas panorámicas de toda Grecia. Además, el Monte Olympus también tiene una fauna única. Más de 100 especies de aves y 30 especies de anfibios y reptiles viven aquí.

Itinerario

Día 1: Subida

Primero, nos reuniremos en Litochoro a las 08:00. Luego, tendremos una breve charla informativa sobre el ascenso. Nos dirigiremos hacia el comienzo del sendero (estación de Gortsia – 1.100m.)

Caminando el sendero del bosque lado norte llegaremos al Refugio Petrostrouga. Después de un breve descanso iremos a la Meseta de las Musas y finalmente a los Refugios de la Meseta. Nos alojaremos en el Refugio Kakalos o Apostolidi, dependiendo de la disponibilidad).

Asentarnos en el refugio – Estancia nocturna.

Duración: 6 horas

Ascenso vertical: 1.500m

Día 2: Día de la cumbre

Desayunaremos en el refugio y tendremos una breve charla informativa sobre el programa del día. Dependiendo de las condiciones de nieve ascenderemos a la cumbre Mitikas a través de los Couloirs del Este o vía Cresta Cumbre Skala. Finalmente descenderemos al Refugio Spilios Agapitos para la cena y pernoctación.

Duración: 6 – 8 horas

Día 3: Descenso

Después del desayuno en el refugio, descenderemos hacia la estación de Prionia.

Duración: 3 horas.

Regreso en coche a Litochoro.

El Guía está a cargo del ascenso y puede cambiar el itinerario o parte de él en caso de malas condiciones meteorológicas. Mantener a salvo a todos los miembros del equipo es la prioridad. También existe la posibilidad de organizar un programa de 2 días.

I come from Greece and always remember myself as a kid in the mountains…
Now, I am a Certified Mountain Guide HMGA, member of the Hellenic Mountain Guides Association (License number A.N 867/37, Nr 19 FEK (A)621-999/28-11-07) also a Mountaineering – Ski Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, member of the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering & Climbing (H.F.M.C).

My passion for the mountains led me on numerous hikes, ski tours, and rock and ice climbs in Greece, the Alps, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Bulgaria, with many new routes under my signature.

The beautiful valleys at the foot of Mount Olympus – Greece are my home, and the flanks above are the playground to follow my mountain love, may it be ice-climbing, ski touring, hiking, or alpine climbing. For me, it is the perfect terrain to train, play and guide.

I teach mountaineering, rock climbing, and ski mountaineering in various Climbing Schools & Mountaineering Associations, and I spend a lot of wintertime as a ski instructor. I love to share my passion with guests and guide hikers, mountaineers, climbers, and ski tourers all year round.

I am married to Mariza and we have a daughter and two sons together.
I speak Greek, English, and French.

Akis and Bill are very professional, technically skilled, have vast knowledge of Mt. Olympus, gentlemen and have high emotional intelligence. They guided me all the way and understood my strength and weaknesses. Akis pushed me to my potential which I didn’t know I have. Bill was patient and accommodating. We finally made it to Mytikas; the highest peak of Mt. Olympus! I really enjoyed the scrambling going up and down. May childhood experience of climbing trees helped a lot 😊☺️. I found a new passion because of this trip - rock climbing. I would highly recommend this tour and the guides (Akis and Bill), you will be “in good hands” with them.😊 Caution: This tour is for fit people, been working out regularly, and have tenacity to walk at least 2-3hrs with 30L bag. I would definitely take up this climb again. Akis was a great guide and we appreciated the pace he set since the beginning. He could adjust to our level and guided us all the way up besides the bad weather conditions of the day. Great experience!

This trek to Olympus was beyond all expectations Our guide Akis Parousis was the consummate professional, so experienced so calm and friendly With him I climbed Myticas with my two children aged 12 and 16 , it was only due to him that we were confident to do so. A life changing experience And one I can’t wait to do again … one of the best trips I have done in my life !!!
