Climbing Peak Kommunizma is a very challenging and testing undertaking, and should only be attempted by those in excellent physical condition and with extensive mountain climbing experience.

The weather can get extremely cold the closer to the summit one gets, so please pack and wear appropriate clothing so as not to get caught out.

Peak Kommunizma is officially one of the five 'Snow Leopard' mountains, designated to the five highest peaks in the former Soviet Union, and is indeed the highest mountain in Tajikistan. It's impressive height (7495m), difficulty to reach and hostile terrain and conditions make it a physical and mental challenge, proving alluring to experience mountain climbers. The fact that it is only possible to climb for 2 months of the year adds to its mystery.

Located in central Tajikistan, and only accessible by helicopter, Peak Kommunizma is an isolated and remote peak, with limited access throughout the year and a scarcity of people. This makes it quite a mysterious and enigmatic climbing spot, and with few concessions made to the modern world it is also the perfect place to switch off, disconnect and unwind from the stresses of modern life, all while indulging in mountain climbing.
