During the winter, average temperatures are usually below freezing. During the day, temperatures can reach -10 ºC (14 ºF) in the south and -30 ºC (-22 ºF) in the north. In summer, the average temperature is 20ºC (68 ºF) in the south and 15ºC (59 ºF) in the north. Summer tends to be the driest time of year, but precipitation is not uncommon throughout the year
