The shoreline and farther inland in Krabi is dotted with limestone hills and cliffs, which attract rock climbers from all around the world each dry season.
The most popular spots for climbing in the province are Ton Sai Beach and Railay Beach, which are on a peninsula just outside of the city and are only accessible by boat due to the limestone cliffs that surround them.
The two beaches boast numerous single and multi-pitch routes as well as great spots for rappelling. Many climbers opt to head up to a scenic overlook on one of the limestone cliffs surrounding Railay Beach and rappel back down.
During the dry season, average daily temperatures in Krabi hover around 27 ºC (80 ºF). Whilst November to March is the dry season, some rain does still fall, about 20 to 60 (0.8 to 2.4 inches) millimeters per month.
Any trip to Krabi likely begins with a flight into Krabi Airport (KBV), which can be reached directly from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok year-round as well aswa from several European airports seasonally. From the airport, it is easy enough to reach your hotel via taxi.
