##### Enjoy backcountry ski in powder snow!

This **backcountry ski tour** involves **full** **hike / tour up mountains away from ski resorts** (sometimes we would start at a ski resort). From the foot of each mountain, we will hike up about 2 to 5 hours. You will be amazed by how much quieter and more beautiful it is in the mountains in comparison to sidecountry skiing. If you want to feel the depth of the surrounding mountains and enjoy the untracked faces, this tour is for you.

Some of the areas we may visit are **Mt. Yotei**, **Mt. Yoichi** and **Mt. Tokach**i and some other volcanic mountains.

Please let me know what kind of ski tour you would like to go. When you need to stay overnight, I totally recommend to stay in **Japanese style inn** (ryokans) and enjoy **Onsen** (hot spring) and **Japanese traditional cuisine**. As a local guide, I will choose the best place for you!

We can decide our meeting point / time in advance accordingly to your needs. We will travel to the trailhead / ski resort to start our tour. After our tour, we can enjoy local Onsens (hot spring) to relax our tired muscles! I can drop you off at a place of your choice (within reason) at the end of the day.

1 Day tour

If you would like to spend more days, we can arrange a longer tour. Similarly to the 1 Day tour, we will discuss our meeting point / time in advance. I can pick you up at the airport if you want, or at your hotels. Tour can be extended up to 7 days and like the 1 Day tour, I will drop you off at anywhere you want at the end of tour.

### Here is another great skiing adventure in Japan!  I will take you to some fantastic backcountry skiing spots around Hokkaido!

**Hokkaido** is the northernmost island of **Japan** and the second largest. It’s known for having the best powder snow in the world and its backcountry runs are a dream come true!Along this 7-day program we’ll enjoy different runs along the best backcountry locations in the Island. Some days we’ll use lifts to access the best locations on the mountains and other days we’ll use skins to go as far away from the crowds as possible!One of the best features of the program is to ski **Mt. Yotei**, the tallest mountain in Hokkaido. It  has over 1000 meters of elevation change and offers spectacular open faces and perfect tree runs!During this amazing adventure you’ll also enjoy relaxing hot springs that will set you up for the next day!You also will enjoy Japanese local culture as **Hokkaido** is famous for its delicious foods and cuisine as well as relaxing hot springs during the tour.**If you are interested in this great skiing experience, please get in touch with me and let’s discuss! Pick up at Sapporo hotel at 7:30. Use the gondola at either Kiroro Resort or Kokusai Ski Grounds to enjoy side-country skiing. After that warm-up, travel by car to the countryside town of Makkari to spend the night at the foot of Mt. Yotei.

Arrival

Amazing backcountry tour to the tallest mountain in the island. After the tour, drive to Niseko and spend the night.

Either a backcountry or side-country tour and another night in nearby Niseko.

Niseko

Enjoy Sightseeing or a half day tour. After lunch, a 5 hour drive to Furano and stay at Tokachidake Onsen.

Sightseeing day

Backcountry tour at either Furanodake, Maetokachi, or Sandanyama areas and stay another night at Tokachcidake Onsen.

A side-country tour using the ropeway at Asahidake Ski ground.

Hokkaido one-or-more-day splitboarding tours

**Hokkaido** is famous for being one of the most incredible places for snow activities in the world. I would like to invite you there to explore and discover the **Japanese culture** on this **9-day snowboarding trip**.

The meeting point of this program will be the **Shinchitose Airport**.

During this trip, we’ll visit **Niseko**, the largest ski resort in Hokkaido. We’ll also go to **Mount Yotei**, **Mount Furano**, **Mount Tokachi** or **Mount Asahidake**, and the **Sapporo** area.

For a more detailed description of the trip, take a look at the itinerary below. We can arrange changes to the itinerary based on your interests and expectations.

Take into account that **prior off-piste snowboarding experience** as well as a **good physical condition** are mandatory for this trip. Do not forget to bring your skis or snowboard, an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe, skins or snowshoes, crampons and an ice axe. If you don’t have the gear you can rent it. Just let me know before the departure day!

On the first day, we’ll go from Shinchitose to Niseko. We’ll spend the night in a Ryokan.

Shinchitose - Niseko

First day of splitboarding and off-piste snowboarding in Niseko. Night at the lodge.

We’ll visit a different area of the resort and then go to Makkari.

On this day, we’ll skin up Mount Yotei and then descend on splitboard.

Mount Yotei

We’ll drive to the Furano area for 4 to 5 hours. The stay will be at another lodge where we’ll enjoy great food and hot springs.

Splitboarding and snowshoeing day in Mount Furano.

Mount Furano

Splitboarding day in Mount Tokachi or Mount Asahidake. Then, we’ll go to Sapporo where we’ll spend the night.

Mount Tokachi or Mount Asahidake

We’ll enjoy our last day in the Sapporo area (Mount Yoichi, Mount Shirai, etc.). Night in Sapporo.

Sapporo area 

We’ll transfer you to the Shinchitose Airport and say goodbye.
