Description

Val d’Aran is a real secret of Southern Europe, this magial alpine spot in the Pyrenees provides ski touring options of the highest quality!

A couple of hours drive from Toulouse, this fantastic location will charm and excite you.

Baqueria-Beret is the largest ski resort in Spain and you can expect ample deep powder snow with seemingly endless ski touring possibilities available from here.

This expansive mountain range has several peaks over 3000m and offers picturesque vistas one after the other. Gorgeous alpine forests, mountain lakes and glaciers adorn the landscape.

Speaking Catalan and Spanish, the local culture is distinct and charming. If you’re staying more than one day you can explore the interesting town of Vielha, which has good restaurants and quite a lively night life.

This region, like many high altitude areas, presents variable weather conditions. I will use the latest local weather news to decide where we can expect the best snow conditions.

You should have some freeriding experience to join this trip and a decent level of fitness.

My work and my passion for the mountains have taken me all over the world.

I spent 8 years leaving in my van as a ski bum in La Grave, in the French Alps, enjoying the steep skiing there.

I also spent 5 years guiding ski touring, alpine climbing and rock climbing in Norway (Lofoten, Senja, Lyngen Alps, Kvaløya, Stetind), where you can feel the power of nature like in very few other places on Earth!

But it was in the Spanish Pyrennes, my own backyard, where I grew as a mountainer and skier. Here, you can enjoy some tapas and a good wine after a crazy heliski day!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
