1-day Guided crack climbing around Calcena

Spain is very popular for its rock climbing areas. This is your chance to visit the town of Calcena, in Zaragoza, to head up some spectacular crack routes. Do you want to learn this particular type of climbing or to improve your skills? Then join me!

Calcena has huge limestone walls with uncrowded crack routes for all levels. Located near the Moncayo, a 15 km-long mountain massif, the area is surrounded by a fabulous landscape. While climbing we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Iberian System mountains and its beautiful plateaus and valleys!

Crack climbing is one of the most rewarding and beautiful ways to climb. These non-traditional routes follow cracks and require special techniques and gear. On this day outing we will practice this particular climbing working on:

• Reading the crack route

• Crack climbing maneuvers

• Special knots

• Specific gear: friends, crackers and stoppers.

• Self-protection skills

To attempt this tour you need some experience in sport climbing and a good fitness level!
