Description
Set in the gorgeous Catalan Coastal Mountain range, Montserrat is about 40km inland from Barcelona. I am offering this one-day rock climbing introduction course where I will teach you the basics of climbing. You will learn both how to follow and how to lead a climb yourself.
This course is for beginners but nonetheless you should be relatively fit to take part in this activity. On the day I will begin by covering some important climbing theory regarding the equipment, the most effective physical techniques and some safety tips.
Next, I will lead some climbs and you will practice following my routes and refining your technique. Once you feel comfortable following my climb you will learn to lead climbs yourself and attach ropes to the rock face. By the end of the day you will be full of confidence and after lead climbing, any climbing with a top rope in place will be a breeze!
I have a limit of 6 participants on one trip to ensure I can monitor all the climbers and guarantee safety.

- This is the price to join one of my group tours.
- All technical equipment for the group and for individuals will be provided by guies de Montserrat. It is advised that you wear clothes suitable for the time of year, e.g. shorts and tshirt for summer, trousers and jumpers outside of summer. I would also recommend that you bring some food and water for the day to keep your energy levels up!

Day 1: Rock Climbing
The day will begin with some important theory that will cover all the safety concerns, introduce you to all the equipment we will use and familiarise you with the necessary techniques.
After the theory you will learn how to follow my lead climb and refine your technique in the secure practice.
Once you are comfortable with this you will lead your own climb and elevate your confidence to the next level!
I will also teach you the belay system which is integral to successful and safe rock climbing
