Description

Join me on this demanding 1-day Ski Mountaineering program in Punta Velluda and get to know one of the most famous trails in southern Patagonia!

Punta Velluda is also known as Paso Superior. It’s the last camp used by mountaineering expeditions in the way up through the east face of Mount Fitz Roy, in El Chaltén.

This beautiful spot is very popular during summer and its trail is crowded with hikers and day tourists due to the magnificent scenery that surrounds it. But during winter it gets cover with snow and very few people go there. So it’s a paradise for snowboarders looking for a radical experience.

To complete this program in one day you should be in very good shape, because it’s a long Ski Mountaineering journey: We’ll start in El Pilar lodge and hike beside the White River for 2 hours to Poincenot Camp. Then we’ll continue to White River Camp and after a short break we’ll go on to De los Tres Lagoon, where we’ll skin up and climb to your desired spot to ride down!

Sounds like an amazing adventure? It is! Send me a request now and we’ll start planning this Punta Velluda Ski Mountaineering adventure together. You’ll spend an unforgettable time!

UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide from Argentina

Based in El Chaltén, south Patagonia, since 2000. I was the first guide to complete the AAGM (Argentine Mountain Guides Association) complete training platform.

I did the first Argentinean guided ascent of Mt. Fitz Roy via Supercolouir route (la Supercanaleta). I have guided Aguja Guillaumet more than 25 times. I also guided Aconcagua, Alpamayo (Peru), Matterhorn (Switzerland), Mont Blanc, Dent du Geant (France), The Rockies & The Bugaboos (Canada), Torres del Paine (Chile), among others.

I am also member of El Chaltén Search and Rescue team. I have several WFR certificates with different schools such as NOLS & Fundacion Ecomed.

I speak Spanish, English and French fluently

My biggest passion is Alpine Rock climbing & Ski Mountaineering. Get in touch with me if you are interested in discovering the unique spots in the Fitz Roy massif, and other gems around El Chaltén! I work together with a group of guides, so if I'm not available when requested, one of my colleagues will guide you.
