10 Days

  • Take a thrilling 10-day mountaineering program with an expert guide.
  • Tackle one of the Seven Summits by reaching the highest peak in Oceania.
  • Enjoy the views around New Guinea via helicopter and climb.

Reach the top of one of the Seven Summits and see the unique terrain of Oceania! This 10-day mountaineering program to Carstensz Pyramid features helicopter rides, island climbs, and a truly unique adventure!

In the midst of a lush jungle, Carstensz Pyramid (also Puncak Jaya) rises 4,884 meters in Western Papua on the island of New Guinea. Located in the coutry of Indonesia, its surrounding rainforest and isolation make this a unusually delightful and memorable expedition.

First climbed in 1926, Carstensz is the most remote of the Seven Summits. For many climbers seeking to cross it off their bucket list, its limestone rock represents an exciting challenge. The cultural experience of this mountain will stay with you long after the trip has ended.

Our program is designed to immerse you in Indonesia. You will have time in Bali both before and after the trip to get acquainted with the region and prepare for your trip. The days at the end of the program can be used for unforeseen circumstances during the trip or as rest days in Bali to celebrate your accomplishments.

One of the most thrilling aspects of our trip will be the helicopter flights in and out of Bali. This will make our program more reasonable to accomplish, and also allows us to appreciate the landscape in a rare and exhilarating way.

The climb is rated a 5.6, though an ascendor will be used. This means all participants who are in good shape are able to take part in this climb. It is a sustained trip, so you should be both mentally and physically prepared for the length of the program.

This climb is one of my favorites, and my experience in this fascinating area will guarantee you have a safe and fulfilling climb. Carstensz is a special mountain, and I would be happy to guide you on a program you will undoubtedly remember for the rest of your life. Above all else, I will make sure you have as much fun as possible.

Book this 10-day program NOW and see the dreamlike beauty of Carstensz Pyramid on an incredible mountaineering expedition!

What people are saying about Todd Passey

February, 2020

I have booked the backcountry ski for 3 days and did only 1/2 - 1 day. Hiking uphill is much too exhausting for me, although I am in reasonable condition. For sure this must be much better communicated towards customers, that they need in ultimate condition. So spending 1200 USDollars and having only '1 day done' is not a great experience. Can I get some of the money back?

February, 2019

Todd is a very experienced guide who knows the area like the palm of his hand. He tailored a plan that adapted perfectly to the conditions and our group, and he got us to some great powder even after 1 week since the last snowfall! We had a great time and I will for sure call Todd again next year when I return to Utah!
