Visit one of the most charming parts of Europe, Schoonhoven and IJsselstein  in the Netherlands. This enchanting towns are an open invitation for those wishing to explore Europe and particularly the Netherlands, in a complete different way.

Over our 2 day trip we will be hiking across the Lek river, exploring its beautiful floodplains and meadows. Following the Lek river offers an exclusive opportunity to visit  the most dazzling wetland landscapes, and uncover mesmerizing sceneries near the dike.

Also, we’ll trek through intriguing trails, each leading to a complete different type of adventure. We’ll reach grass paths that seem out of a fairy’s tale. And we will uncover all the natural beauty of Willeskop.

So keep your eyes open, as this is one of the most privileged places for birdwatching in the whole area. Thus, there is a huge chance we run into Blue throats, Reed Buntings, Reed Warblers. We might even see the Bittern or Water Rail, that are curious creatures not so easy to spot. But if we can find one, this is definitely the place to look for them!

What’s more , we’ll also identify many rare species, such as orchids, loosestrifes and water soldiers, amongst many other incredible plants. The wide variety of colors paint these lands with a unique and festive palette hard to believe exists.

Then, we will also venture into the cultural wonders of the region. As we will visit the ancient cities of Schoonhoven and IJsselstein. These two towns will welcome us with their arms open, to share with our group all the little secrets that make them two true gems in the continent.
