Description

Would you like to acquire all the skills you need to go ski touring in the Alps? Then this 3-day introduction to ski touring in Chamonix Valley is just what you need!

Chamonix Valley is an emblematic location in the Alps for ski touring and other winter sports adventures. Boasting some of the most prominent peaks in Europe, it brings in mountaineers and athletes from all over the world year-round. However, you don’t need to be a pro to go ski touring in the Alps, what you do need is adequate instruction and training.

On this 3-day course, you will acquire all the necessary skills to enjoy the Chamonix Valley powder. Because there will be no more than 6 participants per guide, you will get highly personalized instruction and have the chance to fully develop your skills.  The course offers comprehensive training in all of the essential techniques for ski-touring with a focus on off-piste skiing,  avalanche awareness, and avalanche rescue techniques.

Every day, we will undertake a different ski touring route and progressively build up on the following skills:

  • Use of skins.
  • Track setting.
  • Group management.
  • Use of ski crampons.
  • Uphill and downhill kick turns.
  • Avalanche hazard awareness.
  • Use of avalanche transceivers.

Keep in mind that every day will involve around 3 hours of uphill ascents. Therefore, it is vital that you have a good fitness level. Additionally, you will need to have prior on-piste skiing experience and be able to carry out strong parallel turns on piste and have the ability to make effective turns off-piste. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.

So, are you ready to learn everything you need to know for your off-piste skiing adventures? Then book your place now and join me on this 3-day introduction to ski touring in Chamonix Valley!
