Description

Alcañiz is located in the Autonomous region of Aragon in Spain. It is a beautiful historical town on the banks of the Guadalupe river. It is also one of Europe’s new hotspots for bouldering. With it’s stunning rock formations in the deep green forests, it attracts rock climbers from all over the world. On this 5-day bouldering excursion in Alcañiz, I will show you some of its top rocks and techniques to climb them!

Getting to Alcañiz is fairly simple. From Barcelona, Valencia and Zaragoza you can rent a car and drive between 2-5 hours to the town. Although accommodation is not included, I can help you organize your stay. Because of the altitude, this is a great region to climb in from September through May. Also, it is a lovely town to get to know and explore!

There is a wide range of grades in the region that go from Fontainebleau 3 to 8b+. Therefore, we welcome all climbing levels and previous experience is not a must. The boulders we will be climbing are solid and well weathered yellow-blue sandstone blocks. We will be able to resolve a variety of rock climbing challenges including climbing quality slabs, amazing arêtes, overhanging walls on crimps and cracks, and huge roofs. Also, I will be there every step of the way to guide and help you.

My favourite is rock climbing, it doesn't matter the style (sport, trad, dws, bouldes, single or multipitch routes) the importat thing is climb high. As a native Mallorcan, Psicobloc or Deep Water Soloing, is in his genes. Carlos was an excellent guide for the Cala Moli Via Ferrata. He did a great job ensuring we were safe, while allowing the space to explore and enjoy the route. He is extremely knowledgeable about climbing, and knew when to step in a lend a hand (or knee). The route itself is stunning, and I can't recommend it enough to others. Additionally, going in a private group with Carlos was well worth the slightly higher costs than the tours with 10+ people because it allowed for dedicated help, and not to mention - he took some wonderful photos for us. I can't wait to return, so we can do another climbing adventure with Carlos.

We thought we had arranged a trip with a guide but we got Carlos who was amazing. He greatly focused on safety and managed to challenge and grow all (to adults and 2 children at 14 and 11) at the same time and in a way which made the day truly awesome

My 2 days climbing with Carlos was amazing, over my expectations, such an experience, I had a super great time and learned so much in little time, the best guide!
