Towering more than 5,000 meters above the surrounding serengeti, Mount Kenya casts an imposing shadow over its surroundings.
Trekking along the Naro Moru route, up to one of the many lofty summits on the peak, is one of the most popular ways to experience the incredible beauty of this iconic mountain.
The destination of our trip will be Point Lenana (4,985 meters), but we will start by meeting up in Nairobi and driving to the park, crossing the equator en route.
Once in the park, we will hike up to a meteorological station, from which we get incredible views of the mountain in the early hours of the morning, when the air is most clear.
From here, we will hike on top Mackinders valley, getting the chance to see some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife, while enjoying phenomenal views of the surrounding scenery.
After getting a pre-dawn start on the following day, we will climb up to Point Lenana in time to see the sunrise, a truly unforgettable experience.
After enjoying the views out over the rest of Kenya and maybe even having the chance to see Kilimanjaro, we will descend back down the mountain to the meteorological station. The next day, we hike to the park entrance and return to Nairobi.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this unforgettable 5-day trek up to Point Lenana, on the slopes of Mount Kenya!
