Description

The southern Norwegian region of Jotunheimen, meaning “home of the giants” in Norse mythology, covers 3,500 square kilometres. It is home to the 29 highest mountains in the country, including Galdhøpiggen (2,469 meters) and Glittertind (2,465 meters).

The Jotunheimen Haute Route is one of the most beautiful splitboarding areas of Norway. Over the years its rugged mountains have been eroded by both wind and rain and carved by glaciers. This in time created a number of steep peaks, valleys and lakes.

We will climb up to 1,500 meters every day of the trip, covering approximately 16 kilometres, and reach several peaks. These include Besshø (2,258m), the Glittertind (2,465m), the Galdhøpiggen (2,469m), the Bukkeholstind (2,213m) and the Storebjørn (2,222m).

The exact itinerary of our splitboarding tour will depend on the snow conditions and visibility.

We will spend the evenings in comfortable mountain cabins and lodges during the high season. After mid-April the accommodation may change due to the closure of some cottages.

It is necessary for potential participants to be in good physical condition as well as having intermediate splitboarding skills. The program can be adapted for less experienced splitboarders, however, most of the routes contain extremely challenging terrain.

Reserve your place now for an unforgettable splitboarding experience in Norway’s finest and wildest mountain ranges.
