Day 1: Drive to Maasai Mara

Today marks the beginning of your journey in Kenya! Your approximately 5-6 hour drive from Nairobi will lead you to Maasai Mara, where you'll arrive just in time for lunch at the camp.

Following lunch, an afternoon game viewing safari awaits, allowing you to marvel at the expansive grasslands teeming with thousands of grazing animals. Witness lions lazing in the shade, herds of Cape buffalo, and zebras gracefully nibbling on tall grass just meters away. As the day unfolds, experience the enchanting landscapes dotted with flat-topped acacia trees.

Your evening will be spent at the Simba Oryx Mara Luxury Camp, where dinner will be served, providing you with a delightful conclusion to your day.

Day 2: See the Great Wildebeest Migration

Day 3: Game drives in Masai Mara National Park

Today's quest for magnificent predators, and perhaps even adorable cubs, persists as we embark on extensive game runs. The vast plains unfold before us, showcasing immense herds of grazing animals, with the elusive cheetah and leopard skillfully concealed amid the acacia boughs.

As the day concludes, head back for the night at the Lodge.

Day 4: Picnic in the Mara River

Full-day game drive after breakfast. Explore a habitat hosting over 3 million large mammals. Our journey takes us in search of a diverse range of animals, including the majestic Lion, formidable Buffalo, and a myriad of captivating bird species.

Day 5: Continue exploring Masai Mara

The Climbing Guides and service in both Kenya and Tanzania were super (5+ stars) Kenya Shem, Joxhu, Joseph & Agustin super and thanks. For Kilimanjaro, Deus and Goodlucky were fantastic. However Claudios needs to update the schedule (Lake Nakuru day 7 was canceled) and make available lunches (they were missing on 3 days to and from Nairobi) and make clear when travel will be alone. Finally the Nairobi service agent pushes additional add on Nairobi packages. These are of poor value and should be avoided. These additional package coverage was misleading and I should have avoided completely. This was a Nairobi issue only. Everyone else was above board and super to work with. in summary, the climbs are great and highly recommended. Note the published schedule is not exact and deal with the Nairobi service agent with caution. (Don't take the additional offerings.) Overall it was a very good experience where I met with many great people. Thanks to all.

I had a successful hiking trip with Shem as my chief guide! We were successful in summiting Mt Kenya and came back down via the Chogoria route well! The team worked really well together and communication was professional as well as clear/transparent. I appreciated that every single person in the crew were up to task, responsible, and respectful. Shem, my guide, was very friendly and accomodating to my questions, needs and requests. He was also very kind and encouraging, i.e. encouraging me to walk on my own pace and take breaks while going up and down the mountains and valleys. The team also consisted of a cook, Augustine, and two porters - Joshua and Julius. They all seem to be working as a team really well. Augustine would check on how I feel each day (e.g. stomach and gut health) and he is such a good cook! Joshua and Julius are both quiet, strong and helpful porters. Despite the heavy loads on their backs, they would always have no problem getting to every destination on time (waaaaay earlier than me!). I had a great and memorable time in Mt Kenya. We started off the trek on the last day of 2023 and it was so special welcoming the new year above the clouds! I highly recommend for adventurers out there who are looking for the perfect team to enjoy Mt Kenya with to reach out to these guys! Ask for Shem as the guide -- guarantee that he won't disappoint! 😊

My partner and I had a fantastic experience hiking the Chogoria to Sirimon Mt Kenya route. The full team (Shem the guide, the chef (Gustin) and the Porters (Joshua, Peter, Jackson and Gilbert) were excellent and thoroughly looked after us. We were never hungry and the food was excellent and kept our energy levels up. When we were a little poorly they looked after us. Shem the guide always made sure we were OK, and was great at excellent the plants and sharing information about the surroundings. Would highly recommend this team.
