Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Nairobi

Today, you'll land at Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi to kick off an 8-day Kenya Motorcycle tour. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by one of our motorcycle tour representatives and then escorted to your hotel. In the evening, there will be a briefing about the tour, an opportunity to inspect the tour motorbikes, and to get ready for the exciting Kenya motorcycle adventure that begins the following morning.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast, we'll embark on our Kenya Motorcycle tour, heading towards Ngong Hills. The route takes us along steep roads in the heart of the Kenya Rift Valley in Kedong, where we'll have the chance to encounter game and wildlife. Riding along the Mau Escarpment, we'll pass through picturesque, tranquil villages before descending to Lake Naivasha. At the lake, there will be an optional 1-hour sunset boat ride available at an additional cost. During the boat ride, you'll have the opportunity to spot various animals such as giraffes, zebras, hippos, antelopes, wildebeests, as well as numerous bird species including goliath herons, spoonbills, and giant kingfishers. We'll conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Kongoni Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha - Mau Escarpement - Maasai Mara

Today, we bid farewell to Lake Naivasha and continue our Kenya motorcycle safari, traveling along a dirt track towards the Mau escarpment until we reach Narok town. From there, we proceed to Mara Base Camp, our accommodation for the night. Upon arrival at the park, we'll have lunch at the lodge before checking in. In the afternoon, we'll leave the motorbikes at the camp and embark on safari 4x4s for game drives in the Masai Mara, aiming to spot a variety of wildlife. The game drive will involve searching for and observing animals such as lions, leopards, giraffes, wildebeests, elands, cheetahs, herds of elephants, and more. We'll then return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

Day 4: Maasai Mara

Following breakfast, you will set out for a full-day of game viewing throughout the park, with the option of having picnic lunch boxes. Alternatively, you can choose to have a morning and afternoon game drive with a hot lunch at the camp. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to visit the Mara River, where the annual migration takes place. All your meals and overnight accommodations will be provided at the camp.

Day 5: Maasai Mara - Lake Victoria - Sori Bay

After breakfast, we will leave Mara and continue our Kenya motorcycling adventure tour by heading north of the great Masai Mara. We will traverse the Loita plains, known for their abundant wildlife including zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, giraffes, and various other animals, birds, and wildlife. Our journey will lead us to the shores of Lake Victoria, where we will stay overnight at Supanova Hotel.

Day 6: Sori Bay - Mbita Beach Point

Following breakfast, you will embark on a route leading to the shores of Lake Victoria, reaching our destination at Mbita point in the afternoon, where we will spend the night.

Day 7: Mbita Beach Point - Kericho

After enjoying your breakfast, you will depart in the morning via the Water Bus to cross Lake Victoria to Luanda Kotieno, from where you will continue your motorcycle adventure to Kericho Town. The road from Luanda Kotieno to Kisumu offers breathtaking sceneries and cultural sites like Kit Mikayi, a significant archaeological site. Kit Mikayi, meaning "first wife" in Dholuo, is a prominent rock formation along the Kisumu-Bondo highway, consisting of three stone columns standing side by side, each comprising massive boulders perfectly balanced on top of each other. According to Luo oral tradition, Kit Mikayi is tied to a story, a memory. Afterwards, you will proceed to Kericho for dinner and overnight stay.

Kericho, known as Tea country, has positioned Kenya as the world's third largest tea producer after India and Sri Lanka. The area features beautiful rolling hills covered in neat, bright green tea bushes, with a climate perfect for tea cultivation, as rain falls almost every afternoon. Kericho was named after Ole Kericho, a Maasai Chief who was killed in battle by the Gusii in the 19th Century. You will have the opportunity to visit the tea farms before returning to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 8: Kerich - Nairobi

It's regrettable that the safari must come to an end, but we are confident that you will depart with numerous thrilling and joyful memories. We hope that you will consider joining us on safari again in the future.

The Climbing Guides and service in both Kenya and Tanzania were super (5+ stars) Kenya Shem, Joxhu, Joseph & Agustin super and thanks. For Kilimanjaro, Deus and Goodlucky were fantastic. However Claudios needs to update the schedule (Lake Nakuru day 7 was canceled) and make available lunches (they were missing on 3 days to and from Nairobi) and make clear when travel will be alone. Finally the Nairobi service agent pushes additional add on Nairobi packages. These are of poor value and should be avoided. These additional package coverage was misleading and I should have avoided completely. This was a Nairobi issue only. Everyone else was above board and super to work with. in summary, the climbs are great and highly recommended. Note the published schedule is not exact and deal with the Nairobi service agent with caution. (Don't take the additional offerings.) Overall it was a very good experience where I met with many great people. Thanks to all.

I had a successful hiking trip with Shem as my chief guide! We were successful in summiting Mt Kenya and came back down via the Chogoria route well! The team worked really well together and communication was professional as well as clear/transparent. I appreciated that every single person in the crew were up to task, responsible, and respectful. Shem, my guide, was very friendly and accomodating to my questions, needs and requests. He was also very kind and encouraging, i.e. encouraging me to walk on my own pace and take breaks while going up and down the mountains and valleys. The team also consisted of a cook, Augustine, and two porters - Joshua and Julius. They all seem to be working as a team really well. Augustine would check on how I feel each day (e.g. stomach and gut health) and he is such a good cook! Joshua and Julius are both quiet, strong and helpful porters. Despite the heavy loads on their backs, they would always have no problem getting to every destination on time (waaaaay earlier than me!). I had a great and memorable time in Mt Kenya. We started off the trek on the last day of 2023 and it was so special welcoming the new year above the clouds! I highly recommend for adventurers out there who are looking for the perfect team to enjoy Mt Kenya with to reach out to these guys! Ask for Shem as the guide -- guarantee that he won't disappoint! 😊

My partner and I had a fantastic experience hiking the Chogoria to Sirimon Mt Kenya route. The full team (Shem the guide, the chef (Gustin) and the Porters (Joshua, Peter, Jackson and Gilbert) were excellent and thoroughly looked after us. We were never hungry and the food was excellent and kept our energy levels up. When we were a little poorly they looked after us. Shem the guide always made sure we were OK, and was great at excellent the plants and sharing information about the surroundings. Would highly recommend this team.
