A different half-day trip, running in the amazing Agafay Desert, just 30 minutes away from Marrakech. Don’t miss out!

The Agafay Desert is located 40 kilometers away from Marrakech. On the way to this area, you will get to see how the landscape changes, from urban Marrakech to the aridity of the desert.

Although we call it “desert”, this is not a typical uninhabited place full of sand dunes, like the Sahara. It is more of a barren deserted plateau. Its terrain provides a great environment for those who want to enjoy outdoor activities, such as this trail running tour.

This program consists of an easy trail running itinerary in the Agafay Desert. The route offers meandering paths up and down ravines and dramatic sand dunes. Moreover, we will enjoy amazing views of the High Atlas Mountains. The starting and ending point is the Lalla Takerkoust Dam.

This trail running tour will take us no more than half a day. The furthest point will be an old and abandoned village. Here we can learn some history about the people who once inhabited it.

After the tour we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the experience of being in the desert far from civilization. Moreover, once we finish the tour we can taste a delicious “Tajin”. It is a typical Moroccan dish you’ll probably love!

So, if you are looking to go on a fun outdoor adventure during your Moroccan vacation, come join me. Contact me and I will be happy to take you on this trail running tour in the Agafay Desert!

If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).

About the Guide

I am a certified International Mountain Leader and a Summer Mountain Leader (UK). In addition, I hold a Diploma in Conservation and Wildlife Management.
Originally from Great Britain, I am now based near Marrakech, in Morocco. Actually, in a Berber town at the foot of the Berber Mountains.
The love for travel runs in my veins. In the Sahara I lived with nomads. In Siberia I met reindeer herders. In Mongolia I traveled with yurt-dwellers.
The stunning landscapes and nice people of Morocco have enchanted me, which is why I now live here. My goal is sharing with my clients the exotic beauty that I've discovered here.
The environment is of extreme importance to me. In particular, I'm interested in geology and birds of prey.
Besides speaking English and French, I can get by in Berber.
My work is not limited to this area: I also do the Tour du Mont Blanc trek in the Alps.
