Vertical Meter Count is a daily count of vertical meters skied, and is applied to the group as a whole, even for those people who decide to stop skiing earlier in the day.
There is a choice once you reach your guaranteed vertical mile limit, to either continue skiing or return to base. If necessary, groups can be changed to accommodate members who wish to continue skiing.
A minimum of 5000 additional vertical meters are counted for every day the helicopter takes off for rotations above those covered by your initial package. This does not apply to the day when you reach your limit of 30,500 vertical meters.
The cost of additional meters is 98 Euros per 1000 meters.
Refunds on vertical meters are given if you do not reach your guaranteed 20,000 vertical meters as a result of bad weather or technical problems, at a rate of 80 euros per 1000 meters.
No refunds are given if you decide to stop skiing in the middle of the day and you do not attain the amount of vertical meters outlined in your package during the week, and if you are not here for the full duration of your package, due to late arrival or early departure.
I'm a IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guide from Verbier in Valais. For the past 15 years I have been working in most of the heliski bases around the globe. For the moment, I'm focusing on Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees and Ayder and Ayladar in Turkey. I'm guiding there with a team of IFMGA guides. If I'm busy when you try to book a heliski day or tour, you'll be skiing with one of them. Join us and experience amazing skiing in less classic destinations!
