Join me for this ski trip in Portillo, and enjoy some of the endless options for ski touring, free-ride, off-piste and backcountry skiing in this amazing region of the Andes range.

Very known for his renowned hotel, Portillo and surroundings offer a great range of options to go ski touring. We can start from the hotel or take a car and explore the area. You will enjoy the best powder of Chile.

Portillo is located at 2680 meters and was the first ski resort in South America. It’s just 164 km (2 hours drive) away from Santiago, Chile’s capital city. So you can even go skiing in Portillo for the day, and then go back.

The resort and its surroundings are famous for its powder. Because of that, the terrain is great for freeriding. Besides, off-piste and backcountry areas include hiking some steep chutes like the ‘Super C’.

The skiing season goes from June/July, to October. However, spring months (september, october) are the best for ski touring.

So contact me if you want to go skiing in Portillo! We can organize an itinerary according to your level and available time. Actually, we can either go for a day tour or combine several spots in a multi-day trip.

You can also look at other trips I organize, like ski touring in the Chilean volcanoes.

If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).

What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.

About the Guide

My family brought me to the mountains of Portillo in the Andes, when I was barely 15 days old and I've been hocked ever since. Going there every year I´ve met great skiers and mountain people from all over the world and I was inspire by the adventure stories that brought them to these mountains. In my twenty’s I set out in search of that lifestyle, moved to the mountains and have been skiing and mountaineering ever since. Now after years exploring in the Andes and Patagonia, these are some of my favorite trips. Join me for some epic times!
