Cajon del Maipo guided ski touring adventure, near Santiago

Cajon del Maipo is an Andean canyon located in the southeast of the Metropolitan Region, Chile. It belongs to the high basin of the Maipo River, where it is surrounded or “encased” by hills and massifs.

The Cajon del Maipo is one hour from Santiago de Chile and it is one of the most chosen destinations by mountaineers and skiers. Among the main attractions here there is the famous Lagunillas ski center, where we can go.

If you have some previous experience in backcountry skiing and you will be visiting Chile between May and October, Cajon del Maipo has to be on your list of goals.
