Description

The Camporells massif is a true gem for ski touring in the Oriental Pyrenees. This charming destination is extremely inviting, and the snow exceptionally good.

The landscape includes stunning frozen lakes, and there are summits of varied difficulties. This means that I can find slopes to ski for all levels, so don't hesitate to ask me for the best options according to your experience.

This magical place is ideal to discover ski touring. It is also a fantastic option is you want to improve your skills and experience some steep descents in a stunning environment.

If you are a beginner, we will spend part of the first day getting familiarized with the ski touring equipment. We will also learn (or refresh) important safety measures.

We will spend the night at the Camporells refuge (2240 m), a charming hut with a warm ambiance. It is he perfect place to refuel and start the second ski touring day full of energy.

During the first day we will ascend either the Petit Peric or the Grand Peric. And the main ascent of the second day is the Pic de la Grande Porteille.

Itinerary

Day 1: Petit or Grand Peric

We leave from the Formiguières resort using the chairlifts. We get familiarized with the equipment and learn the progression techniques for ski touring. After a short descent to the refuge, we ascend the Petit Peric (2690m) or the Grand Peric (2810m). Descent and overnight at the Camporells refuge.

Day 2: Pic de la Grande Porteille

Early departure and we traverse the “estanys de camporells”. Then we ascend the Pic de la Grande Porteille (2765m). It is an option to ascend to the Pic de Morters (2668m). Descent to the Galbe valley.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
